Howard’s Corner – NOAH

Do you ever feel like you aren’t as successful as you think you should be at “God’s work?”

Let’s look at another person who appeared to “fail” in this area.

Perhaps this will help you see things from a different prospective.

Noah was a preacher of righteousness for at least 100 years while he was building the Ark.

 2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

Noah was a good man who pleased God.

Gen 6:8-9

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Noah was a mature man who had been around for a long time.

Gen 7:6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

Given these credentials we would expect Noah to be a very successful preacher.

Noah was a preacher of righteousness for at least 100 years and had no converts.

Wouldn’t that make Noah a failure as a preacher?

 However;

Noah was very successful in obedience to God.

And not a bad boat builder either.

I believe Noah’s success is truly measured in this line and this line only…

Noah walked with God! (Gen 6:9)

Nothing else matters!

Howard’s Corner – Jesus eyes

WHEN PEOPLE LOOKED INTO THE EYES OF JESUS,

THEY SAW A MAN THAT LOVED THEM.

WHAT DO PEOPLE SEE WHEN THEY LOOK INTO YOUR EYES?

Do you look through Jesus eyes when you look at Someone?

Do you have the Heart of Jesus when you feel for someone?

How can you show them Jesus if they can’t see Him in You?

Before you have them get right with God… make sure Your Right with God.

Then you’ll be able to Show them Jesus LOVE.

Always look Inward before you look Outward!

Things you count

The things you can count, don’t count. The things you can’t count, are what counts.

Howard’s Corner – God can trust you

When you can trust God with anything

Then God can trust you with anything!

When you can trust God with anything,

your Problems, your Children, your Health, your Trials, etc.

Then God can Trust you with anything,

Gifts, Ministry, etc.

If you can’t trust God, then how can He trust you?

If you can be sure of God, then He can be sure of you!

Howard’s Corner – Your descendants

If you want to leave something to your Descendants (Children),

leave them a mark (Spiritually) so high it will take them a lifetime to attain it.

If they can ever attain it.

(Your personal everyday walk with Jesus should be such an example that

your children will always try to succeed in being as

close to Jesus as you are.)

Howard’s Corner – If God isn’t enough

If God isn’t enough, then whatever you replace Him with will kill you (spiritually). Drugs, alcohol, food, power, money, etc..

Howard’s Corner – A project

God said: “they (people) shouldn’t reject a project that I have given them (their own child with special needs, etc.), and take a project that I have not given them (church, ministry, helping others, etc.).” The project that God gives you (at any given time) could be anything. Don’t let His project go undone because you have some other project you want to do. A project could be anything or anyone – helping someone change a flat tire, raising a handicapped child, making your spouse happy, paying off your bills, etc.. Whatever God tells you to do. A project could last one second or it could last a lifetime. God may give you several different projects during you lifetime, also He may give you several different projects at one time.

Howard’s Corner – A small rudder guides A large ship

A small rudder guides a large ship. Water is a type of the spirit. If you walk in the spirit, changing an apparently or seemingly small thing can totally and drastically change your course (where you will end up). So, when God tells you to do some small thing, do it. It may cause the large changes that you have been praying for. Think about the ship, it doesn’t have to break or bend in the middle to turn around. You go to the back and move the tiny rudder just a little bit, and the whole big ship turns around, or if it is going in circles, a small rudder move will make it go straight again on it’s proper course. (Remember, take care of the little things and there won’t be any big things).

Howard’s Corner – Mountain Climb

Sometimes in life there are “Mountains” that we have to conquer.

So, you must make a difficult climb up the side of a mountain to the top.

Other people seem to fly up in a helicopter, and are at the top before you are, without any effort.

One day I asked God,

“Why is this so? Why can’t I take the helicopter like some others do?”

Then God answered and said…

“What (more than them) do you know about the mountain?

What (more than them) do you know about yourself?

What (more than them) do you know about your God?”

You see; God didn’t want me at the top of the mountain.

God wanted me to climb to the top of the mountain.

There is a difference!

Much of our learning is in the difficult climb, not in standing on the top.
