Do you ever feel like you aren’t as successful as you think you should be at “God’s work?”
Let’s look at another person who appeared to “fail” in this area.
Perhaps this will help you see things from a different prospective.
Noah was a preacher of righteousness for at least 100 years while he was building the Ark.
2 Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Noah was a good man who pleased God.
Gen 6:8-9
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Noah was a mature man who had been around for a long time.
Gen 7:6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
Given these credentials we would expect Noah to be a very successful preacher.
Noah was a preacher of righteousness for at least 100 years and had no converts.
Wouldn’t that make Noah a failure as a preacher?
However;
Noah was very successful in obedience to God.
And not a bad boat builder either.
I believe Noah’s success is truly measured in this line and this line only…
Noah walked with God! (Gen 6:9)
Nothing else matters!
“JESUS IS LORD!”
